Not sure how much I'd trust stock rockers at 10k revs as there is no mention of uprated ones. Not sure how the standard springs would hold up at that pace either, you may end up getting the valves starting to bounce at that speed which wouldn't be good, again, unless they have been uprated and it just doesn't mention it.
i dont care what exhaust system you stick on a straight 6 pot it wont sound like a v8!! v8's hav a different sorta rumble where the 6 has that...... distinctive growel. b25 is my fav engine noise jus made me laugh when i read that part. , also 10,000rpm is v-tech teritory man, cud u really get that from this engine?? other than that tho she's very nice dude
A 2 door e30 with 8 cylinders, what could be better
No reason an m20 couldn't do 10k rpm as long as everything is very well balanced and strengthened. After all a straight 6 is one of the most naturally balanced engines anyway.
Thanks for the replies. Im interested in it but don't know much about modifiying a m20 and thought i will get opinons and questions i could ask before i ring him up.
My Hartge H5 had strengthened/uprated rockers and springs, and that was only putting out 245hp in an M30.
If this engine has had as much spent on it as claimed, someone obviuosly knew what he was doing when he built it, and would have almost certainly uprated the top end to cope with the extra grunt.
Fairly sure that 240bhp would be unobtainable from the standard AFM/induction....
I know of a 2.7 M20 putting out over 250bhp, but that's on slide throttles and mechanical injection at 8500rpm...
The long stroke nature of the 2.7 crank would tend to mitigate against any menaingful gains at ultra high revs and I'd also expect upgraded springs, forged rockers and upgraded valve stems/seats for 10K, too

That ad reads like a schoolboy's wet dream. I'd doubt the truth of any of it TBH. Shame, because it's probably a pretty good car, just the owner has probably got a bit carried away with the ad and it will put a lot of people off.

As soon as I saw this car I knew to head over to the Zone ASAP. I'm interested also, but is it too good to be true? It is rather reasonably priced if it does what it says on the tin!
