this afternoon, whilst engaging in light hearted E30 banter with some of my danish counterparts, there was mention of an incompatibility between the M20B20 throttle body transfer to a M20B25 type..

i of course deffended my position with great rigour, by explaining that i had slept with thier mothers, and invited them to a challenge of knowledge..

i then concluded my overpowering argument by displaying my buttocks, and bid them good day. :flipbird:

now... did i just boo boo, or is it a possibilty that they were right :? . one lad said that the air , fuel mix would be way off and cause damage.. anotherone said i would need to rolling road it to check out the values and set accordingly, another one said that the lamda probe would sort it out but i dont think i have one... :? ... or do i  i dont know

needless to say i got a load of :pff: which i replied with  :wan:

All you had to do was point them to the Zone, where there's an article available from Templ8e30 and you would've won the arguement quite convincingly!

To a degree they have a point regarding the A/F ratio and getting it checked on a RR to make sure its OK.

AFM's go fully open after a certain level of RPM and wide open throttle, once the AFM is fully open and the throttle is WOT the ECU takes its reading from a WOT table and reads the engine speed and injects the preprogrammed amount of fuel.

Once the AFM is fully open the ECU can't tell if there is more air entering the engine so you could be up setting the A/F ratio with a bigger TB.

I don't think he is right about the Lambda sensor being able to compensate as it only influences(sp?) the A/F ratio at tick over and light throttle openings like holding a steady speed on the motor way, in these circumstances the AFM will be able to tell if there is any extra air going in.

Personally i would check how its doing on a RR after the new TB to be safe and to make sure you are getting the most from your engine.
