Ok guys im looking for some ideas/inspiration about the sunroof on my car.

Problem is,at sometime in the past someone has had a glass sunroof fitted, and it really lets the car down in my opinion!Dont get me wrong it has been fitted extremely well, proffesionally id say,and it works fine,no leaks etc,it just looks old fashioned :(

I was going to fit a 3.5 into it later this year but this is putting me off.

Has anyone any ideas, sell the car and get a different one?or would it be possible to fit something more modern say from a MK2 Fiesta xr2 or similar, pop up glass type(flush fit if i remember right)?

Any ideas would be welcome :)

I assume that is not a standard bmw glass one then, as i think these are very rare. If it is surely you could just replace it with a standard one?

If its not a standard one, try finding out the manufacture and see if they made them for other cars.

Or you could get a carbon/plastic one made to fit the hole, save some weight!

i have heard that welding up the hole can cause the whole roof to distort.

If the rest of the car is good then its worth finding this out.

If the car isn't then it could become a "rare selling feature" when you sell it!

I would leave it, if it aint broke dont fix it. Sunroofs on E30s are a bit of a nightmare i think. You could always tint it? Or on real nice days take it off.

Dheers guys,i will probably leave it as is.Its an after market item and is fitted very neat, its merely the look of it thats the problem!
I think i will tint it and then sell the car on to someone who isnt bothered by it,not just because of the roof, but my original plan was to get a standard looking clean Black 2dr,no kit, spoilers, fogs etc and put a 3.5 in it,very low very discreet only a set of rims on it.
