Regardless of whether people think they are a good or bad thing, I want to try one. So what's the best way to do it. Buy a cheap original off here and respray or one that's been 'professionally' done? If DIY, whats the best way/products to do it, and if 'professional', then where's the best place?
Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot

what these guys have said is right
but what i did with mine is
i took off the whole grill all 3 parts
sanded them all down to give a good keyed up surface
and gave all 3 pieces an even coat
but i never used matt black paint
i used a black vinyl bumper paint that i got from halfrauds
it gives it a much more uniform look
like this

i think the end result come out pretty well

Is it only me who thinks this is a bit Irish? Surely you need the silver relective surface to make the lights as bright as they are?e30_318i wrote: ive also start to dismantle the lights and spraying the insides black aswell

You can also buy the grills off ebay and bm towm etc. But they are about 30 pounds i think, which is too much for what they are.

Do Not buy one off ebay, just spray your own one.

Well i rote de artical ba jesus and i till now i can still see at night wid me black lights!!!
did me grill the same way too, but broke all the tabs getting the kidneys off, but no worries paint em (i sanded them, black paint, and clear laquer over the top to prevent stone chips showing) then glue em back together.
but with a black car i am still unsure if i like a black grille or not!
