I have a rather unusual 1983 316, i.e it does 60mph in second, 90mph in third and rev's out at 6,000 rpm in fith gear at just shy of 130 mph!!.
It belonged from new to a Captain T Hendy who purchased it new out in germany and who allegedly had it converted to sit on the autobahn at 100 mph all day long.
It has a modified sump, the brakes are from a 6 cylinder e30 and the suspension is all red.
I would love to know who did the modifications to it so that I can service it.
The chassis number is 7312616 and was pre-delivered by BMW, Aktiengesellschaft on 26-10-1983, It had it's early servicing carried out at Kattenstroth BMW dealer in Gutersloh 1 and at Auto-roer, 44 Munster and it was also serviced at auto wiesmann. The car came to the U.K in 1993 and was serviced at Grevan's in Shrewsbury.
The car is light grey/blue and is German spec, It has now covered 185,000 miles and is in excellent condition.
Any information gratefully received. My home telephone number is 01938 554156 Aft 7 pm

easy to make it rev....with cam, throttle body, manifold/ports/valves, exhaust and mapping
might also have a re-bore or bigger block/crank as the M10 motor in 2 litre form can easily produce 200+bhp

those mods would not of been carried out by the main dealers when new though, it would have to be after market tuners doing that kind of stuffFushion_Julz wrote:easy to make it rev....with cam, throttle body, manifold/ports/valves, exhaust and mapping

Red suspension components along with red calipers have been scientifically proven to add 67bhp & the spare wheel.
