whats the furthest you can go to stripping your interior etc and still being road legal? do you have to keep door cards or anything?

On the MOT side, front doors have to be openable, handbrake must work, switches for lights indicators, wipers, hazards. Steering wheel must be smooth. There are a few others, but thats the gist.

And AFAIK a speedo for the legal side of things. You don't have to have door cards, carpets, etc etc. Just look at Caterhams and various Lotus's

Stripping parts of interior counts as modification for your insurance iirc too, so that affects it.

Our race car is road legal, MOT'd and fully insured... as you can see we've slightly modified the interior!
