Well, I finally decided to take the plunge and have a go on the Nurburgring :notworthy:

I'm going over on the weekend of 17th/18th September, and can't wait. Should be an excellent experience. Just hope I don't bend anything though

I've ordered some new Discs & Pads (Ԛ£368 :clin: ), and got a fresh batch of DOT 5.1 for the Hydraulics. Also ordered some nice new number plates with the EU/GB symbol. Didn't fancy a :gay: GB sticker on the back.

I suspect I'll need some new tyres on my return as well, so it looks to be an expensive weekend :?

Cheers,

Ian.

Best of luck mate, you'll enjoy it immensely I know I did.

Even had the missus on the verge of throwing up on a wet lap, was super slippery and spent most of the lap sideways :D

Don't buy a big wad of tickets is my advice, I was going to buy a set of 6 laps but after 3 the track was closed for the rest of the day due to a big accident so would have been a waste.

I went 2 weeks ago and the first couple of days the weather was sh!t, rain and fog, but the last day was perfect sunshine with no clouds whatsoever.

Where are you staying ?, we camped in Dorsal about 15km from the track in this place http://www.campingplatz-stahlhuette.de/ ... index2.htm. Cost Ԛ┚¬90 for 4 nights.

Take care and come back in 1 piece !.

Cheers,

Iain T

Cheers guys

It's one of those things you just have to do at least once in your life.

I'm going to take a few passenger laps to start with, and then maybe go out in my car with someone who knows the track before really giving it some 8)

I just hope the weather is good.

Ian.

Be sure to let us know your impressions (about the track and how your car performed) ! There's an interesting article in the August issue of Evo about the 'Ring, its tricky corners and ideal line.

Have fun !!

I went out like that Ian in my car and found it benificial but also a hinderance in some way. As long as u keep your eyes peeled u can drive round there at any pace just to get a feel of the place.

It's the gradients and a few off camber corners etc that make it feel so special compared to other circuts or dangerous!, and the lack of run offs!
