I have to confess I am well past middle age, and I dare not go to night clubs 'cause the light shines off my bald head like a glitter ball.

However when I get behind the wheel of the E30 I turn back into a hairy arsed 20 year old with testosterone poisoning, and all this with only a 2 liter engine.

So my question is - when I finish the 2.7 conversion will I regress to an age where I can't Insure it?

How does your E30 make you feel when you drive it?

Many slate the 4 cylinder E30's, but it's one of the greatest feelings ever when I drive mine. I take pride in owning my E30, and whatever my car needs, my car get's.

Ive had all kinds of things but nothing quite matches the feeling an e30 gives..agression is the word with these, newer cars are just to soft and boring

I love driving round Madrid's equivalent of the M25 in my 24 year old car, wearing a suit and tie while all the others are in their Citroën Xara Picassos, VW Passats and Fiat Multiplas.

Gives me a sense of "I know something you don't".
These are sensations as hard to forget as they are to ignore.....

I love the feeling when you haven't driven your car for a while and then realise how good it makes you feel!

i'm 19 as well, the 325 cab is my second car, insurance is a bomb and my car has a drinking problem, apart from this i still believe it drives better than many newer cars, it may be the same age as me but it still pulls like a train and gives many e46 320 and 325s a shock, i dont know what i'd do if i didnt have my e30.

Every day.

Just got back to owning one after a spell spent in the wilderness driving an E46. Diesel.

The word that keeps flicking to the front of my mind in my new state of speed-limit-driving-to-prolong-the-sensation E30 driving is 'character'. So many of todays cars lack it, I reckon the E30 is full of it.

Enjoy!

I drive mine every day and love it, I think it's the best driving car I have ever had and can burn more than a full tank in a day when the mood takes me 8)

(A nice run out to Whitby over the moor's just has to be done)

Mine makes me feel like I have my wallet out the window as i'm going sometimes.. I see cars behind me swurving out the way of pound coins... But other than the fuel consumption, its bloody amazing...

Its running a bit shit but it still goes like the stink when I use the "Kick down" (Auto) I absolutely love the sound... Makes me feel 25... Although... I am... 8O

Got a pre-facelift 325 coupe..

When i get in [eventually through the passenger door as my locks are jammed], and give her a start, I wait and see if all is well[temp, heaters, flooding], let her warm up a few minutes and take it round the block..ahh. I don't thrash it. I cruise ..almost looking for other E30's/owners!

Its not in the best of shape as its in progress but that powerplant more than makes up for it! I've had more powerful cars and bigger engines but the feel this car gives me is 8)

I can't wait to finish it! Damn you global warming - wheres the sun?! My room will not be able to cater for more parts soon 8O .

Had someone from opposing traffic get out once in heavy snow, let me know they got a cabby e30 they want to get rid of, but only to an enthusiast! I told him about the forum and told him im more of a coupe guy :D

Oh..and the look on the face of the 09 plate Astra at the lights - priceless :D
