One of my mates foned me today and told me he'd seen an ad for a 320se with 325i engine selling for Ԛ£300 ono. So I foned the guy up to arrange to go and see it. Arrived at the guys house and there was a 'H' plate 2 door in light blue metallic sitting in pretty good nick (rust in the usual places - rear arches and bulkhead) but overall a nice motor. "You fcukin' dancer" I thought to my self, "I'm havin that - I'll offer him Ԛ£200". Guy comes out, starts it up and pops the bonnet. Guess what? 320i engine and not 325i. So after pointing this out to him he was still adamant that it was a 2.5 because "the guy that sold it to him said it was a 2.5". It was obvious by his reaction that he knew it was only a 2.0. The only way to get the twat to back down was to park my Touring side by side with it and physically point out the obvious. "Oh I better change my ad then" was his reply as I walked away. Luckily I had only travelled a couple of miles from my house cos I would have been even more p1ssed off if I'd went any great distance. I pity the guy who buys it off him, doesn't know any better and thinks he's got a 2.5 under the bonnet cos he obviously ain't gonna change his ad. :soap:

Inlet manifold is different and throttle body is a lot smaller. That gave the game away for me but other ways to tell are the colour of the injectors and the number on the ECU.

It was only advertised on a card in a shop/cafe. Might also be advertised elsewhere. Don,t know the guys name but I've got his number. If you're interested pm me and I'll give you the number mate.

No tax no MOT but "apparently" only needs a tyre, 2x front ball joints and both front jacking points welded.

I went to see a car once - a 325i advertized as a 327i

The guy was convinced it was a 2.7 cause it was a 'sport' and had 2.7 stamped on the head.

I pmsl!!

the biggest give away would of been when u took it out for a spin and were waiting half an hour for it to get to 60. Then the penny would drop....... this is one very sick 2.5 or ahhhhh it's a 320!!! all sound no go

Beware this is how desperate people are getting now to get rid of their 320's!

320i is hardly slow.
