If he does that to your car, you can protest the outcome of the MOT if it fails. They are only supposed to tap the specific areas with a light hammer - there is actually a specific MOT testers hammer. :hammer:
I've always found that it's better to watch the MOT being done, that way the tester's on his best behaviour. All Testing Stations are required to have a viewing area.

ok/....... i turned up to collect car...

some other geeza there said he had seen my out drifitng it yesterday//

i went to guy who done MOT.. and he said i shouldnt be driving it round cos it was so bad! failure points:

1.anti-roll bar droplinks allround gone!
2.offside front balljoint
3. rear subframe bushes gone
4.front shocks gone (see later)
5.rear brake pipes corroded
6.offside handbrake not working (seemed fine drifting last night!--pull it harder u pussy)
7. offside rear seat not latching properly
8.front jackinh points corroded

so i had a BIG argument with him about the hartge shocks i out on!!! he said the car wasnt bouncing and therefore the shocks were gone---FFS its the other way round

dont think the car is gonna make the drift practise day on monday.... so i'll prob have to go in the sport

Just had my E reg 325 MOT'ed, failed on rust in front inner wing, rusty brake pipe (the long one from the ABS unit to the back, how come only one goes bad?), and top rear shock areas.

The tester was pretty good, allowed me to have a look under the car, and watch him. He had what looked like an official MOT hammer, and was reasonably gentle, e.g. round the front jacking point he said he could probably "make " a hole but didn't as he shouldn't hit it too hard :-) Probably helped that it was a Saturday morning and he wsn't busy.

I haven't been so nervous watching the test for years!

Should be about Ԛ£300 (inc doing the tracking, I've put a new rack in) to put right, plus the test fee.

Mark

ps Assuming it all goes well is there an appropriate place to post a recommendation, he's an ex BMW main dealer technician who's set up on his own.

Shouldn't have tempted fate, rust is worse than thought, another~Ԛ£80 worse. It's along the bulkhead behind the brake servo. Saw the old rear shock bushes, the bush had seperated from the rubber!

You need an MoT,
He wants to get his end away.

You do the maths........ 8O

Tell me about it!! I've had so much trouble finding a decent garage it's unreal. I've decided to bite the bullet and go back to doing all my own mechanical work - once I get the garage emptied.

I've also found it pays to stick with the same MOTer. Been going to the same place for 4 years now.
