unhappy buyer?

i sold a rear light that was in good nick with no cracks and after postage i'm a huge £9.55 without b/rap cost in the black.
the guy say's it arrived cracked and if i don't respond tonight he will leave bad feed back for me.i also got a text from him asking where it was yesterday and another today saying ,
got the light today it's got a crack in it.I said it had to be perfect. This is no good.
my missus posted it after it was well wrapped in b/wrap and some card over the lense.she posted unrecorded @£4.45
i'm not liking this guy's attitude much atm.
what would you do.

you should have marked it in a discreet way so you know if it was your original light and told him to send it back.
if you know it definately wasnt cracked and you sent it by the service he requested and paid for then tell him to get fooked.

I recently brought some rear lights, I specifically said they needed to be good, however they have since not gone anywere near my car!
I just said I wasn't happy, but I'll deal with it as i couldn't be bothered with refunds, postage etc......
Just say if you want a refund then post me the lights back (at his charge) and then I will give you a refund for what you paid for the lights and not the postage. He will soon back down.

i know 100% it was not cracked i have pics of a pair of lights from which he had one without any damage. this guy asked if it was sent recorded delivery yesterday.

you need some proof of this crack, could be trying it on for his money back
i've sent headlights across the world and nothing has been damaged.
this fella has just joined with 2 p0sts
just got another text saying bad feedback on it's way after i pm'd this to him.
the light had no cracks at all before it left me,
i can't be responsible for r/mail bad handling the postage cost was
£4.45 in total so i'll offer £9.55 refund as a good will gesture as i don't have another.
i don't get this mong,i tried phoning him to have a chat and it's on v/mail

I dont understand what your on about magpie, how can you be £9.55 'in the black' if you took his money and posted the light?
Royal mail will insure you up to £39 anyway so whats the problem?
Has he sent you a picture of the crack?
All you can do realistically is ask for him to send it back, refund the money once it lands and put a claim in to royal mail

What the feck are you doing sending stuff non-recorded
You are asking for a dishonest person to say something didn't turn-up when it actually did and you won't have a leg to stand on!
I don't send anything to anybody unless it gets a signature upon recipt and if the buyer doesn't want to pay for this he/she goes elsewhere for their part.
As far as this case is concerned. Lights need to go in a stiff box with plenty of packaging otherwise when the lazy feckers at RM are having a tea break they will play footy with your item and hey presto it's fecked!
If you really think there is no way this got damaged in transit as you feel you really packaged it in a way that it couldn't possibly have got damaged and you are certain it wasn't damaged when you packaged it then stand your ground. Offer a replacement if all else fails but on the provisor that the buyer sends back your cracked one at his/her expense.
As for making a loss if you stop offering to sell things for shirt buttons and using the correct postage service then you may not get in that position again!

it was well wrapped as is every thing i post.
it's just annoying and i'm not to blame imo if even a blame exists here.

Tell him to fook off take the feedback. Everyone knows you here mate respond to the feedback and forget about this little pr!ck. If he doesn't send you the light he doesn't get a penny end off. People want something for nothing all the time. As soon as something goes wrong they think they can treat you like some little pleb. You can't be held responsable for the post and if he had treat you with a bit of respect then you wouldn't be feeling pi$$ed off. They all just try it on. Soon as they do it too me at work that's it they get nowt.

Claim the £39 from royal mail.
Give guy his £15 back, keep the rest for the hassle of doing it. I have a nasty feeling you might find RM exclude 'light units' from their insurance policy though.
If it was a regular member getting a part damaged from a newbie zoner, everyone would be caining the newbie. That is the clicky nature of clubs. Magpie, as I am sure you are going to do, send everything recorded. Set up a trade account, and posting things will be cheaper than RM and they come to you to pick the shit up.

name and shame him. Ask for pic's and ask him to return them. How the hell do you know if the items actaully damaged at all.
OR refund him then neg feedback HIM and name and shame. No one wants to deal with a whinger who TBO is not helping himself here.
a) he has no loyalty / reputation on the zone yet (and is obviously failing to see that this is the one place needed when owning an e30!)
b) He has not co operated in that if I had faulty parts turn up, I'd contact the seller and say "look, I'm really sorry but its cracked. HERES A PHOTO. do you want me to send it back so you can see it?" etc etc.
c) he's just been plain ignorant and rude TBO instantly blaming you.
F*ck the prick off out of it is my thoughts. We don't need people like that on here.

I've found there's no shortage of people willing to rip off a seller, and there's a plethora of methods to do this, unfortunately. Bitter experience has taught me to never send anything without having a proof of delivery, and always make sure the service you use covers you for loss or damage of the item. Here's a little (despicable but sometimes necessary) trick I've had to play in the past.
Chap buys mobile phone from me on eBay, wife sends it (not with signature on delivery). The day the guy receives it I get a message telling me it's not turned up and he's persuing a claim through paypal. I know he's received it because of the tone of his message and the fact that it's been 3 days since the end of the auction. So I send him an empty box, recorded delivery. Funnily enough, the day he signs for the box he also drops his "item not received" claim.
If it's ever an eBay purchase gone wrong, as the seller there is a very good chance you will be found at fault, regardless. The only thing you can do is smile sweetly and say "a full refund will be made upon return of the item" and make them return it, recorded, at their cost. This also helps prevent a few of the after sale hagglers, who like to make threats unless they get a partial refund (they just want money off once it's arrived).
Unfortunately, a lot of the time you just have to suck it up for the sake of your feedback. It amazes me how wide open to abuse the eBay system is.
In your case Magpie, you're not on eBay, so you have quite a lot of power. I would think refund of the purchase cost upon return of the item was a fair deal, or if covered encourage the customer to claim for damages through royal mail.

mate is 1 bad feedback going to hurt, tell him to u know what, its only a pair of lights, not the most expensive item. Just ignore him, let him give a bad feedback, whose going to take any notice from a newbie, surely most people on here know who you are so cant make much difference really....
This guy wanted to buy the lights from me, but only wanted to pay into my bank account, is that what he did with you?
Gave him my details, and he claimed payment will be sent by 2pm the next day, never heard from him after that.
Looks like he's just trying to do quicky for sure now. Just allow him.
