I think you'll find you only pay your excess for your own damage, not third party damage, but check with your insurers.

I would recommend you speak to your insurers and report the claim, that way they can get in touch with her and maybe keep better control of her claim rather than her ending up riding around in a £50 a day hire car and speaking to lawyers like me :)

I doubt a main dealer will want to deal with you on a cash basis - especially if they have the chance of extracting easy money from an insurer - sorry mate

i tried to be nice, left 2 notes on her car,

admited i was sorry and it was my fault on the phone, she had someone go into the back of her recently aperently (probably braking for fun)

i think shes taking that out on me rather than seing it from my view, having had 1 small scrape at 18 is nothing compared to todays standards, really shes the won that shuldent have parked there and probably is a much more dangerous driver than most of us, not happy, i thought i got away with it and she wasent going to call, basically just lost every penny ive ever ernt in 2 seconds :(

The dealer will just tell you to speak to the owner as they will be awaiting authorisation from the insurers and in their eyes, the insurer is a safer bet than you for payment. What may look like a wing & a bumper may turn into rear panel & boot floor damage and a much more costly outing than you are bargaining for.

Also, you can pay her garage bill, but what about when she wants to claim whiplash?

What I'm saying is you are going to stuggle to keep your insurers out of this

your insurers won't want to see your car unless you tell them about her having allegedly been rear ended recently before and there was old damage from that accident that hadn't been fixed when you smacked her car. Then your insurers may want to make something of it and argue a reduction in her repairs.

By involving your insurers, they may be able to intervene with her directly and offer her a courtesy vehicle, otherwise she may end up in what is called a credit hire car, where the daily rates are extortionate. So by belling your insurers now, you may help them to save money on the claim and that in turn helps your record a little.

It still won't help your no-claims discount and you'll get a dry bumming for your premium next year, but you shouldn't have to pay your excess.

Excesses usually only apply when you claim for your own damage and this is often to deter people from claiming for minor damage they cause to their own car.

By all means, ask her to contact you once the nissan garage has informed her of the cost of repairs and if you genuinely have the dollars to pay then tell her you can pay the bill directly and see if she'll ask the garage if you can settle the bill. If you can lay your hands on the money and pay them straight away then all is well, then you may save your no-claims discount, but you will still have to declare the accident when getting any future insurance quotes.

wow .... you sound like a complete cock not only have you managed to crash into a parked car but you are also admitting on a public forum that you are going to cause further damager to the car you hit and that you plan on driving with no insurance

I rode into a parked car on my push bike... twice actually.

the second time wasn't really my fault.. the right half of the handlebar snapped off as I was going down a steep carpark entrance.

Really unpleasant..

right have spoken to insurance, i dont have to pay my excess, and if the cost of the damage isint too high the insurance have said that i can reimburse them the cost so that i keep my no claims!

obvously if the cost is more than 1 bag ill have to let the claim go, but atleast its sorted now.

gunna have an epic fiddle of insurance with my dad in dec, might end up going fully comp i a 1.0kia or sumthing and then he will insure my car so i can still drive it, if that works out cheaper anyway.

thanks lee for all your advice, fell moch better knowing i havent got the deal with the agry other party!
