G reg Motorsport cab - anyone seen one this age? Before the facelift to the 'better looking' bumpers etc [is that right]? Could it be silver?
What if I've been told of one for sale - with stupid low miles - that the person said is definitely a Motorsport cab but has the older bumpers but is in amazing condition? What do you reckon of these?
I also been told of a H reg and what looks like a real good price but may be more of a risk...dont know what to do?!?

Motorsport cabs never came in silver. The closest was sebring grey.
Don't let them try and tell you otherwise.

That what I thought. I got the reg, so I'm gonna contact BMW and get the original spec.

but should still have the leather doorpanels center console etc.

I will still get the original spec from BMW but it looks like it could be a real Motorsport then.
Woodysjw...your cab is an earier one too? Have you got any pics posted on the zone?
Heres my problem. I love the look of the Mtech2 kitted Motorsports but the few I've looked at for sale haven't been to the condition I want. Now, this earlier silver M'sport cab is in 'REAL' mint condition [so I been told] and the good bit; less then 50k miles!!! I'd be stupid to let this one go in search for a Mtech2 version innit? I mean...less then 50k miles!

All depends on what you're looking for.
Personally speaking I wouldn't consider an early one. I just love the look of the late motorsports and I think they will appreciate in value better than the early ones.

Yeah I love the look of the later Motorsports too....but I could be looking forever for the perfect one - less motorsport wants to sell me his [I know you want that one to Adam!!!]?
And at the end of the day, a cab E30 is sweet full stop! If in-fact the condition of this silver M'sport is amazing, I reckon I'll have to give up something [be it the Mtech2 kit] and buy it for it stupid low miles. I've checked with BMW and the original spec confirms its a genuine M'sport - hey I wont be able to tell the difference behind the wheel!!!

One will always come up. Bear in mind that summer is ending so people will be wanting to get rid of their cabs.
If you find one that's not quite perfect for a good price then snap it up as long as it's rot free. You can spend the extra cash on getting it up to your standards.
Just keep looking and try not to be too impatient and rush into it (easier said than done, I know). You'll be happier in the long run. You just need to be patient.

Would the 89 Motorsport cab come with the painted BBS rims [like the later ones], or was that an option? The one I'm looking at got all silver cross-spoke BBS alloys. Though maybe the silver cabs would of had silver rims?
And would an electric hood been standard? I got a code of 390 - black hood [it doesn't say electric on my spec equiry - though it does say option]?
