Hi chaps,

After my touring failed the MoT after the engine swap, I really wanna get it ready for Gaydon!

I have changed the headlights, fixed the exhaust to gearbox mount, sorted the n/s/f indicator, and a couple of other bits.

Still got to undo the other end of this brake pipe, which is SO awkward! Then bend up a new bit and fit it, then bleed the brakes.

Get a decent seal from the exhaust manifold to head.

Fix the centre box exhaust mount.

Change both front balljoints. All is undone on the n/s but they are such a pain (any tips?). Gonna borrow a balljoint splitter from work.

I also then have to have it re-MoT'd, and build up my split rims, using the old bolts :x cos Supergolfs let me down.

I'm busy all this weekend, looks like some late nights in the garage.

:)

Keep at it, Im sure you'll get it all done! Where do you live? Could give you a hand if youre not too far from Brum. (dont want to drive my car too far at the mo with this strange valve/rocker noise)

I live near Cambridge, almost two hours from you, but thanks for the offer mate.

I've got a couple of mates who can help round this way, it's just the lack of time!

Hopefully will get it sorted though!! :D :D

hi dave,
did the mot failure have anything to do with the engine swap?

No no,

It was just regular things, like balljoints, exhaust mountings, and a brake pipe, exhaust manifold blowing (partly to do with engine swap!).

It's in hand, the problem is the lack of time!

See you in five minutes!!

Once the balljoints are done, there isn't too much left.

Thank god.

Should get the fanimold off Simon and fit that early next week, re-enter it for the MoT! Thanks mate!

No splitties, but nevermind. Might hammerite black my BBS X Spokes!

At least she'll be road legal!

:) Using all new Bmw bits (cheers Reedy) bar the balljoints, as they are only available as complete arms from BMW.

This brake pipe is a git though!

Lets go!!! :D
