  :x

Just got back from honeymoon. My 'baby' was left at my folks house.
Folks house was ransacked too as was my pride and joy.

Car was stolen from Morden in Surrey about 2 weeks ago.

Just so angry and p:ss3d off, words can't express my sadness and anger.

Police told my folks that the car is usually shipped abroad, is that right?

Car is a:

G-reg
325i SE Auto
Laser Blue
4 dr
M-tech rear spoiler
17" Alpina Reps with Good Year Eagle F1's 215/40/17
Alpina CD faceoff

Hope something REALLY nasty happens to the thieving scum

Sorry to hear that mate, and your from my neck of the woods!

There's no way the car would've been shipped outta the country, more like stripped for parts (unless there is actually a moron somewhere in the British Isles driving around in it!)

I'd watch out for any Laser Blue e30's in your parents' area for any traces.

As Jim said, it would not be worth shipping your car across the water..

Did they steal the keys from your parents house? if so probably used the car to get away in....

I hope your insurance pays up OK if the car was stolen using the keys...

Like Jim, not too far away either!

I used to know a guy who's parents were burgled by the inlaws while they were at the wedding 8O

I doubt it got shipped. The shell will probably turn up at some point, :(

Just spoke to insurance and they referred me to Total Loss Unit.

Need to send off V5 Cert. and MOT.

They will then contact me to agree/disagree the value.

Sorry to hear of your theft.....When I first read the thread, I thought it was the car I had seen in an ad.....but this turned out to be a 2 door.

Good Luck with the insurance, provide them with as much information as possible, like pics, MOT's, servicing/parts costs etc.

Just for those who dont know what Laser Blue looks like -

Thanks for the advice Nostrils on sending info.

I serviced the car myself and have ALL receipts and MOTS since I owned her.

Do you think copies of these would be OK or originals??? :?

Copies only! never send the originals.... or if they insist on the originals, make sure you keep a copy!

I would have to agree because it sounds like the insurance company have already decided that the car will not be found.....Best check with them.

When I got Gatsoed a couple of years ago, I sent off my licence (as you do, with no copy!) and before I had time to post the letter my rucksack got swiped on the train....I had less than 28days to get a new licence and post it off - Done it with a day to spare (Thanks DVLA for such a prompt response) - The begging letter might have helped!

If you have taken you car to any 'meets' and others have photos, see if you can get some for your portfolio/case against the insurance when they give you a rubbish value.....never take the first offer!

Finally managed to locate pics of my stolen baby, here she was in all her glory (the pics were taken the day after she got new Alpina reps)...

Image Image

Will be posting all documentation (receipts, invoices, MOT's etc) to the Total Loss Centre shortly, just hope they don't offer me some silly value eh!?

Also been trawling the web for comparables to see what she was worth, but not seen many G reg 1990 325i SE's with 94k out there??? :?

Anyone know what she might've been worth? (please be gentle!)

Back again...

Had the insurers back to me with a verbal offer......Ԛ£2900....They told me to think about it and get back to them in a couple of days.

What do you reckon? Obviously I want to push for the max I can squeeze them for but how do I go about it? Any advice appreciated.

TBH, price sounds reasonable to me mate. Wouldn't hurt to act all insulted and haggle though....?

I agree the offer was more than I expected.
The insurance man asked if I knew how much I was expecting, to which I pleaded innocence. But what I don't want to do is push it too much and then they turn around and say, well actually we've re-evaluated and then they offer me less?!

take the money and run dude, thats a very fair price for an insurance company to pay out, take the cash becasue there are plenty of other nice ones out there with low mileage and are mint, maybe tricky to find but take your time and im sure somthing will pop up that you fancy
