Because if you don't you will be facing the wrong way on the roundabout with three lanes of traffic looking at you, thinking - T**T!

Just slightly.

The scarey thing was the HGV behind me, coming to a stand still face to face.

In my last 325 I hit a rounderbout near work with a little more pace than was required and there was fuel in my lane. I wasn't as lucky. It was a write off. Glad everything is ok with you and the car mate

I had a misshap last week. This is how it went lol.

Epic ,

zaust : ill drift the roundabout

Gricey : sweet

zaust : sideways

Gricey : opps he fucked that ,

zaust then mounts the roundabout does 2 doughnuts in the middle of the roundabout avoiding the boat onament on the roundabout and shoots off quickly lol

everybodys face was a picture , flowers and mud everywhere ,

No damage to me or my pride, But myself and Gricey were in stiches over it. + it made a good thread.

Best thing to do is plant your foot, its easier to control the back end than the front end :)

The funny thing is that when the back normally steps out, steering the correct amount would bring it back in line.

This time both the back and the steering went really light, felt as though no matter what I do it was going to spin - although I was completely unaware at the time that the back would step out, probably didn't react in time.

Lesson learnt - you cannot and will not have a relaxing drive come rain and roundabouts.

If front and rear went light together itcould have been fuel on the road. That's exactly what happend to me. I spunlike a top and the tear end met the barrier at a good speed. I was glad of the way these old timers are put together. Not sure a euro tin would have left me un skathed. No wiplash nothing

You certainly need to keep your wits about you when driving the E30s in the rain.

Does not make for a relaxing drive!

First hour of purchase, steady drizzle, 14" Bottletops, diesel spill on road.
Pulled up next to a TVR at lights on a roundabout, as lights change from Amber, i plant foot on accelerator. Result = One very embarrased 325i driver, a 360 degree spin, and a highly amused TVR driver. Lesson learnt. :o:

All I can say is add cobble stones into the equation and it can become 100% concentration only. :)

Touch wood, not missed one yet. I think as DaveD says, experience gained in older cars counts. After I passed my test I only ever drove RWD cars in all weathers for the first 7 years of driving. :)

This was followed by a variety of different cars for the next 29 years as well as driving a bus for a living a couple of times, RWD, snow and a bus full of passengers is a bit of a sweat breaking time 8O

I had an inadvertent 'drift' moment on a mini roundabout recently, at all of 15mph - I'm sure it was diesel - right next to a filling station.

lol ... drive a 160bhp capri on 24 year old michelin tyres that arent even properly round int he wet ... once you learn with that an e30 will seem TAME :P

had a few nice drifts in my tourers that ive had and with an open dif in a tourer ill say (m40 1.8) its relatively easy to get it to step out and then catch it holding a drift with an open diff really takes some doing lol

my e21 on the other hand would hang the arse out all day long

i've had my fair share of "hairy moments" in my sport mainly on the industrial estate where my mate works, as you come away from his place you are greeted by a loooooong sweeping right hander & if you hit wrong (or right depending who's about) you end up sliding round it nicely.

once saw a boy racer in a 180sx trying to show off on that bend & he ended up going into the counsil recycling place through the exit only to be told by the bloke in charge that they didn'y take cars in there my god he looked a complete tw@t in front of his mates.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.
getting oral sex off an ugly person is like rock climbing.....don't look down ;)
