My insurance company want a written valuation.
Moderator: martauto
My insurance company have asked for a written valuation for my touring (a short letter). The valuation needs to come from a president or ??? of a club/organisation.
Can anyone recommend who could do this for me?

I'm not a member, I wonder if I can get a valuation without a membership.....RM2186 wrote:BMWCC?
I'm a member and have saved much more than the £35 membership fee over the last year. I saved 10% on my insurance, 10% off quite a few products at various retailers and even got free tickets to the WTCC at Brands Hatch recently.

I am sure that the insurance company would accept a valuation from you Dave. I have done similar for Routemaster bus owners as members of a club that I was Treasurer of.d6dph wrote:Just check what they require and I'll see what I can do. I'm not 100% sure if we would be seen as a valid source of a valuation but worth a try.
I could get Iain and Steve to co-sign it.
There is no set authority for clubs etc for valuation purposes so you should be sound.

You pay to join the BMWCC and then its another £15 for the valuation. Maybe you can negotiate a valuation without membership. Tel no is 01225 709009.Dan325iSport wrote:I'm not a member, I wonder if I can get a valuation without a membership.....RM2186 wrote:BMWCC?

Maybe the zone could charge for this service, could go towards the funds for running the zone.
£15 would be reasonable, however it could become a job in its self!

I was going to comment that I'll personally only be doing this for cars that I have seen and know well enough to put my name to a valuation.
I will discuss it to the rest of the team to see if we are interested in doing this as a service.

Here we go - a new zone funding method .... and a means of members having their cars properly valued. Megga

Rav, I've seen it from 15ft, Not had a proper look around it like Dans one.
If the insurance companies are happy with forum staff valuing the cars I can set up a check list sheet that which ever of the team inspects the car will fill out after doing the visual check.
At the moment this is a one off for Dan, We may do more if the rest of the team decides it is ok.

I am selling it Si, I don't know how long it will take to sell though so I'm carrying on as usual for now. Once the insurance company has agreed the value I wont be at a loss if something happens before it sells.Simon13 wrote:car club will value for non members buts its more money can't remember the price, i thought you were selling it?!
