According to DVLA records there are 152 325i sport tech1's left on british roads compared to 804 325i sport tech2's! That is a stagering difference, i guess most tech1's have rotted away by now

The figures are on e30 wiki, it says its not 100% accurate, its a DVLA FOI report. Those figures re for both auto & manual sports.
That is three years old!

So there will be less now then
Can you remember how the bloke who got them figures got hold of them? Would be interesting to know, i bet there is a lot less left of both models by now.
There probably is alot less.
Those figures were never going to be acurate as all that person did was find out how many 325i SPORT's were still registered with the DVLA for each year.
Not all 325i Sports had SPORT on the V5 log book so there will have been plenty of others missed. The only way to prove the authenticity of a 325i Sport is to get a build spec sheet from any BMW dealer and if its a genuine sport then it will have the model as, 325SP and the following codes,
*335 M TECHNIC SPORTS PACKAGE
*209 LIMITED SLIP DIFERENTIAL
*206 5-Speed Sports Gearbox (if manual)
along with any other standard spec and option codes.
The ONLY way to get an 100% acurate figure is to find out from BMW GB how many 325i's were sold here with option code *335 M TECHNIC SPORTS PACKAGE, along with the model code 1116 325iSP and then getting all of those chassis numbers and going to the DVLA with them as seeing if each individual one is still registered with them.
This would take some time and i cant see anyone going to the both of doing it unless for finacial gain.

you have nowBarx325i wrote:I guess it was available for special order but dolphin was only a 6 pot colour? I've not seen a 4 pot dolphin yet.
I quite fancy an iS in dolphin grey
my old 318i

my mums partners first e30 was a dolphin grey 318i moredoor, then a, 320i touring in brilliant pink, then 325i touring in larchs silver, and a 320i cab in calypso red, then a 316i touring in lazur blue. e30 bug kind of bit him hard, all because he got made redundant and found a cheap moredoor for £500, the moredoor was mint too
