You couldn't get a RHD M3 from the factory could you?

Tis what i thought, some issue with the exhuast manifold fowling on the steering pump means they didn't make any (please correct me if i am wrong!!)
not that it matters as it is a nice looking car mate, can't fault it!!

I think that there was a clearance issue somewhere which ment they only came out the factory as LHD, so when they are converted to RHD you can't use the M3 stearing rack a normal E30 stearing rack has to be used which have more turns lock too lock IIRC!
Shoudn't be a problem though, looks well nice!

Well seeing as the e30 m3 is supposed to have the best steering feel of pretty much any BMW, and the steering on normal e30's is pretty poor both feel wise and stupid amount of turns lock to lock/ratio, then I would say its a problem. Much better to get a LHD one.Kedge wrote:I think that there was a clearance issue somewhere which ment they only came out the factory as LHD, so when they are converted to RHD you can't use the M3 stearing rack a normal E30 stearing rack has to be used which have more turns lock too lock IIRC!

But then if you're only going to criuse about in it, guess it could be OK, but why buy an m3 in that case? Why not a 325i motorsport?
Cheers,

......and as you said, if it's cheap.....
I don't think you can really "drive" a convertible properly anyway, it's all about the posing
Good luck with it Geezer

He hasn't got it yet and it seems the price is "unrepeatable"
I'm very interested in finding out what he pays for it as well

F.A.O anyone considering buying this car, get the vin checked by bmw . The fact that it is rhd and is painted in what i'm sure is a non original colour should set alarm bells ringing. The absence of side repeater lights also means it has probably been a while since it had a proper mot. Caveat emptor !.

To be quite honest......
He's got himself a great-looking car dirt cheap that won't cause a problem in this country as it's RHD.
All I can say is "enjoy it"

Looks OK. Guess you are wanting to return it to A1 standard?
If so just check all paintwork meticulously as the Mauritius Blue is a pig of a colour if neglected as absolutely every mark/scratch/swirl shows up in the sun. However a great colour when A1. The LHD issue, roof motor (looks fupped in the pic too) colour coded grille etc and leather restore if needed will total mega Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£s if a restore is in mind.
Car looks nice though and a Mauritius Blue M3 would be excellent.
