ive got me car fixed now.... its a 1990 320 2door, it has a few dodgy rusty bits so im deciding what to do
a m8 has offered to buy mine from me so thats fine hes a body man and will sort rust no probs.

i ideally want more power so is it better to buy a 325? or get another 320 and do this 2.7 conversion i hear about, im fine with spanners got my own engine lift and pit in garage. but i had a quick glance and 320 2doors seem rarer than my grandmothers teeth!
can the 2.7 be done to a 316/318 and is it a lot harder?

thanksy :)

need discs on the back fella, and vents on the front, monts ant the engine, loom , matrix, rad and bottles and bits.

tbh i dont really know  but if u could swap the 25e into a 20 shell,u would save yself a shit load of time

also gearbox and diff on the 16 would be too short, mabey on the 18 too

the ladsԚ´ll have more info on this for ya

I would say the easyest way to do it is buy a 325 and make that a 2.7
you already have the best brake setup and a few engine parts for the 2.7

No problem putting a 2.7 into a 2.0 (glenn's putting a 4.9 V8 into a 320!), but as the guys have said, the 320i saloons didn't have discs on the rear, so using a 325i would be the better starting point. There are other things to take into consideration though too, if using a 325i, you could claw some money back by selling the engine, 2.0's don't seem to sell to well, but using a 320i, then there will be parts you can use of this engine for the conversion such as the cylinder head.
