Just bought a tech 1 sport and would like some questions answered please, if you can!
1: Is OBC just the check panel near the sunroof or should there also be a computer inplace of the clock?
2:Did they come with a warning triangle from new?
3: Should it have a map reading light as per tech II's?
4: really general question, but when a window )ELECRTIC gets to the top and starts making a loud 'clicking' sound what is usualy worn?
Pics of my new car to follow once its cleaned.

1. No, I have a 1987 tech1 and the standard spec was just to have the check control panel in the roof and the clock.
2. Quite possibly did, mine didn't have a warning triangle but it may have been removed by a previous owner. Although I'm pretty sure all BMW's of the time had them my E34 did.
3. Not too sure what the tech2 has in the way of map reading light's but mine are fitted to the underside of the rear view mirror.
4. Unfortunately it could be any number of reasons and hopefully someone on here will be able to advise you.
Enjoy it they're great cars

Yes the control of the obc is the 13 button panel where the clock would go.
No warning triangel in the uk, but it was part of a option.
yes, it should have map light's in the mirror. + the head linning should be Black.
Should have a whole early motor for you, and if I haven't then someone else will.
Enjoy

Right,
1. OBC is either a 6 button or 13 button computer which goes in place of the clock and was an option on all sports.
2. As said, a warning triangle was an option and usually came paired with a first aid kit and was storred in whats known as a "boot tidy" which fits over the battery cover in 325i 2dr/4dr saloons.
3. Some early tech 1 sports didn't have maplight mirrors just as some early tech 1 sports had 14" BBS instead of 15" BBS.
4. The clicking could be either the motors teeth slipping or a crack in the window regulator somewhere. Is it a continual clicking when you hold the button and the window is fully raised?
