I'm trying to find the cost of a part on ECP or GSF for the water pipe that goes on the front of the M20 engine. Motormec is quoting Ԛ£93.62 + vat which seems a little steep to me for a metal pipe. I cant find it on either site.

The BMW part number is 11 53 1 719 788 - is there anyway to find the ECP/GSF part numbers from the BMW ones easily?

Chances are it's a dealer only part, as you say around the Ԛ£100 mark

I would ring the dealer for a price. My ETK is listing it at around Ԛ£75 inc VAT, and I find the actual price is usually a bit lower than my ETK price.

Still a lot for a pipe though

There's a BMW nationwide dismintler who do mail order, give them a try:
01594 827333

Have to admit I've never used them, but then I haven't had my BM that long!

Is this the one?

I just pulled the engine out today to start my M50 swap.
It's a 320 but I've just checked the part number you gave and it matches according to the ETK (Ԛ£113 inc Vat according to my version  )
As you can see, there's a little bit of surface corrosion but nothing too dramatic.
Drop me a PM if you want to discuss.

Cheers

Yup thats the pipe. Mine had surface rust too, when I went to clean it up it turned out to go all the way through

I'm going to see if a breaker has one without surface rust (unlikely I guess) if not then I'll PM you - Thank you :)
