Priviledge normally give me crap quotes, last year on a 2.0 1995 Astra Convertible they quoted Ԛ£1500. that was for me and the missus, 3 claims between us, two where people did hit and run on our cars.

So I now have a 325 Convertible, and they want... Ԛ£594. Cheapest so far by a long way, although I will have to call Adrian Flux.

I will need to ring Priviledge as their on-line system wont take account of the wheels or suspension, but how come the price has dropped so much?

I did get a quote when I bought the BM from Direct Line and they wanted Ԛ£1000 now they want Ԛ£800, what has happened?

You are a year older or they reckon you will drive more sensible like in the 325i

Ill tell you what though, insurance has gone mad.

The quote on my 325i Sport with S50 conversion was about Ԛ£500, Im 24 6yrs NCB. But untill its ready Im driving a standard E plate XR3i, the quote on that - Ԛ£650 8O

I was quoted for them at the same time and even asked if she had got the prices the right way round. I cant understand why the BM is cheaper to insure??
But then Ive never understood insurance. My mate was paying over a Ԛ£1000 to insure a 1.6 Astra when we were both 21 and I bought the 325i and insured it for just over Ԛ£600

Have you moved?

I was once told I lived in a high risk area, despite it being about the safest cul-de-sac in th world. Some insurers go off the first part of your postcode, in my case OL2... which screams "race riots!" to insurers.

Also, some insurers are now offering stupidly low quotes, but with stupidly high excess; I had a dirt cheap Ԛ£200 quote for a 318iS worth Ԛ£1000, but the excess was Ԛ£1200!!!!

Read the small print carefully...

Buy the insurance online because of the discount, then phone them up with the modifications, will save some money by the end of it

I haven't moved, but the claims are nearly out of scope of the 3 year barrier now.

I would go down the classic insurance but I do 7000 - 8000 miles a year in it, too many for classic, maximum is 6000 for that sort of insurance.

hmmmm. if your car is in good knick. ie a minter, then don't get standard insurance. i had my genuine 325i sport fbmwsh no rush any where insured with direct line.car was written off and they said top book price was Ԛ£1900. get an agreed value if you can. i didn't and they ripped me off.i had to fight for months to get them over Ԛ£2000.

Daz i got a good quote from privelge with the car standard. I'm 22 when i phoned them they won't touch anyone with mods if they are under 25.

Try HIC aswell as flux

they are on 08451 290 290
