I had a bit of trouble working out where to take my 325i for new brakes recently, so I thought it might be helpful to make a thread listing good BMW garages you would recommend around the UK.

It might help us newbies know where to take our E30s for good service and reasonable prices. Add your suggestions and locations and ill add them to my list.

West Midlands

MMT Automotive in Solihll. Very helpful, resonable and propt.

This is also being discussed in Pub Talk where there is a view that just because ONE person has a good relationship / experience of a garage or mechanic it is not immediately or naturally transferrable to all.........

i hate to disagree with you fi.........

but the garage i posted up (& in the garages section of the links page) must be pretty good as there is a guy who comes upto that place from down on the norfolk/suffolk border area so they must be going somthing right lol.

he goes there to get his car serviced & any other work it might need so like i said thay must be doing somthing right.

Can recommend 3 in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas

Central South

Pikesleys Woburn Sands Ltd
19 High Street, Woburn Sands,
Milton Keynes,
Buckinghamshire,
MK17 8RF
01908 582585

Old skool MOT Bay, guys in there are very fair with classics, as they deal with a LOT of them! Fair price on costs, but can't deal with rear wheel bearings (lack of tooling)

Unit 4-6
Freeway Auto Centre
Tavistock Street
Bletchley
Milton Keynes
MK2 2PG
01908 643 666
01908 644 449
http://unit4-motors.co.uk/

Another old skool garage, 30 years in the business, Did my fueltank and my gearbox work for me at reasonable costs, they don't mind if you supply parts at your own costs.

PCS Milton Keynes LTD
53 - 55 Barton Road
Water Eaton
Milton Keynes
MK2 3BN
01908 270 503
http://www.pcs-mk.co.uk/

Very good specialist BMW garage, had my wheel bearings done in a day and for a reasonable cost (£250~ including parts / Labour)
BMW and Opel, both RWD, both german, both good fun

Funny you say that, as I had some work done there twice and while the first time seemed ok, but when I came back the second time, they made quite a mess of my front brakes - caliper bolt caps hanging loose, brake pad wear sensor flying around unsecure and they didn't replace my bleeding nipples (I provided all the parts), although they assured me they did...

When I came back for re-work, they pretended as if they left them out because the nipples could snap, but when I took the car to a friend of mine, he changed them in 2 mins, no probs.

Pony, if you know any decent place around that area or nearby there, please PM me, as I'm struggling to find a good garage locally.

Thanks.
