buy an e30 m3?
Moderator: martauto
i have just been offered a black e30 m3, g reg 1990, its done 102k miles, the condition of it is super mint!! garaged its whole life!
It is number 48 out of the 50 made RIGHT hand drive which is right up my street!
what do you zoners think its worth? or what would you expect to pay for a beauty like this?

It will have to be a converted m3 to be RHD, as already pointed out - they were all LHD

there are no factory built rhd e30 m3s. EVER.
there were a few semi official CONVERSIONS done buy bmw dealers to brand new cars which were then supplied to the customer rhd, but there were never any actual official lhd cars, uk or anywhere else in the world.
a proper proper mint, decent spec e30 m3 is worth £12k + all day long. special ones and tiny mileage collectors items are going for £20k +

Possibly converted by Birds. The 48/50 claim needs to be proven though.Cook318IS wrote:It will have to be a converted m3 to be RHD, as already pointed out - they were all LHD
If I were ever in the market for an M3 - which is highly unlikely - it would have to be RHD and properly converted. I don't care what the purists think.

Max sounds like a good one. Never pass a chance on an M3!

....And I'd happily pay a premium for a properly converted one, if I wanted one.StuBeeDoo wrote:If I were ever in the market for an M3 - which is highly unlikely - it would have to be RHD and properly converted. I don't care what the purists think.
I don't hold with the "conversion devalues it" train of thought. If someone wants the car badly enough and it has been done 100% properly they will pay proper money for it.
A delicate subject, and there has been much debate on the 'worth' of e30 M3s. I would say pay what you feel it's worth to you. If you want to benchmark it to market values, trawl the classifieds, such as Pistonheads. There appears to be a deeper market in LHD ones as they appeal to the continental buyers with their currently stronger Euros, as well as purists everywhere. I would guess that a RHD would sell for less than its LHD equivalent.

The lhd ones perhaps would be more in terms of price as they appeal more to the purists as original examples.

Regardless of your apparent feelings towards him, I'd say your comment - based around his being Polish - was un-warranted.m4xos wrote:sorry chris-w, i have never had any trouble with any e30zoners but when it come to BOB-S, he's just in another league!!Chris-W wrote:I suggest you re-think your words when posting on this forum.m4xos wrote:well ur just a polish c**t!! do one,

I happen to know Rob reasonably well, but that's by-the-by. In fact if he steps out of line in the way you just have he'll be treated the same way - ie. do it again and you may consider your use of the forum over.
yer fair enough, im not usually racist at all, and work with alot of polish guys on building sites, never had a problem with them, except for bob!!
can i get a moderator local to me involved who knows me well! sure it will be fair then!!
then its up to you then chris cause you know him well, suggest to him to sod off writin on my posts!! cheers, end of matter!!
