The two fellas are stars, Iain came over from Manchester to swap my diff so that he could have my 3.91 for his Nurburg trip, and Matt popped over from the other side pf Sheffield to say hello. As it happened, Matt was a godsend and made up for my complete lack of skill!

Two top fellas.

Cheers guys.

Dan

PS Iain's 2.7.....mmmmmmmmmm

My pleasure Dan, glad I could help you out.

Was good to meet Matt too, turned out to be a top day working on one of my favourite motors.

Thanks for the diff mate, just finished putting it on my motor. Got to go for a spin now and see if it's any quicker than it already is :D

Hope to see you again soon.

Cheers lads

Simon......didn't exactly forget, just didn't bother as the car is off the road with a cracked head. Only changed the diff over because Iain needed mine. Am in the process of tracking down a replacement engine of some sort. Been offered an Alpina engine, no idea of any details yet but could be a nice match for the exhaust!

Dan, Yes the diff is perfect. Took about 2 1/2 hours to change, fitted new output shaft seals too as the drivers side has had a leak and fitted a new rubber bush in the cover too.

It certainly accelerates a bit quicker :D took the wife out for a spin (literally) on a nice wet roundabout  Cheers mate !

Simon, I'm going to the 'ring on saturday 13th August so will be on the circuit all day sunday and maybe for a short blast on saturday afternoon.
I'm staying in the area until wednesday to see the sights.

I'm intending to go camping although I'm struggling to get a place at a campsite and all the B&B's are full. Germans don't seem to answer emails even in their own language :x

Can't wait now the car is ready, started daydreaming about it. I've wanted to go since my dad showed me photo's from his trip in 1972 in his Matra 2 seater.

I'll let you all know how I get on.

Cheers,

Iain T
