I'm in the process of trying to get my 318iS into shape, and one of the items required was some bodywork. The car required repairs to the bottom of the A-pillars and the horizontal panel in front of the front inner wheel arch repaired due to rust.
Found a local bodyshop who have a good reputation and booked the car in. The quality of the work was excellent. He had to weld in some metal at the bottom of the A-pillars as he found it had been previously repaired with filler!
The finish on the A pillars is so good, it looks totally original.
However, he fitted the panel about a half inch too high so the screw holes in the plastic wheelarch panels wont line up. I can get them to fit with a bit of work.
Instead of being happy with the work overall, all I can think about is that the panel is slightly off and feeling pissed off.
Am I just being a whinger?

No. Take it back and get them to fit it properly. You have paid good money for them to do the job. and the job hasnt been done properly.

I was thinking of fixing the wheelarch liners myself and use the issue as leverage on the price of the next job, see if he will knock some money off the sill repairs. Would this be a reasonable idea?

If they think they can get away with doing this job half-arsed they might think the same about the next....
Plus of course if you do it yourself there's no proof there was ever anything wrong with the job they did anyway.
