Like you said it's a BMW car club event, our 2p worthless cars aren't favoured by the high and mighty. A lot of zoners do attend, but alas no official e30zone attendance.

Spot on. It's a BMW CC event. Zoners are welcome of course but to show your car this year you will need to join. Last year non members could display in the show and shine but I think thats stopped this year.E30Mark wrote:Like you said it's a BMW car club event, our 2p worthless cars aren't favoured by the high and mighty. However, The car park up the top is a nice place to be and is normally rammed to the gunnels with BMW's. Why not come anyway and park up top and enter on foot? It really is a good event and you get access to the gaydon museum as well.
Barry? we in convoy again from reigate?

Guys dont take it like this as 'our' e30s are more than welcome in the club. As a club member I would obviously promote membership and having had previous discussions discussions with our chaiman JH it appears the most quoted mis-quote that he does not want e30s. Rest assured YOU will all be welcome.
I shall make enquiries about non-members / Zoners parking and let you know.
Dont let my defence of the club or JH predudice your opinions, and similarly dont expect any bullets.
thanks steveH

Well Great news for all you e30Zoners as I have spoken to our secretary who has given Green light to you having your own display area.
Now for the organisation your help is needed.
1) You shall need to nominate TWO MARSHALLS who will co-ordinate booking tickets on behalf of the Zoners wishing to attend. NO Marshalls' names = NO tickets will be issued.
In first instance please pm me contact details of the marshalls.
2) Marshalls will be able to book the tickets. 12 tickets booked at the same time (one payment) means they can have tickets at £7.00 each in advance rather than £9.00 each in advance when purchased seperately.
3) There will be NO access to the display areas for anyone who pays on the day. ie book in advance or park in the public parking car parks.
I do hope you appreciate the invitation from the BMWCC and accept in great numbers. In fact why dont YOU volunteer to act as Marshall and make it a great day out to meet fellow e30Zoners??
I cannot take on the role myself as being involved in the club and our region will be heavily worked as it is, BUT I promise to pop over and put at least some faces to names.
thanks in advance. steveH

As I said before dont judge us from BMWCC all the same as we aint. Iam a BMW enthusiast with strong interest in the e30s and presently my Z3MC. I put plenty into the CarClub and get much pleasure back out so it works for me at present. If,through my position at regional (NorthEast) Concours or Board level, I can help include non-members then I will do, but without always banging the Club drum as ultimately it is for individuals to decide whether it is worth joining or not.
I do hope some pick up the invite and make it a good day out.

This is great news for both the club and the zone. Lets hope we can move on from this and work in the future in harmony. I have to say, as a keen zoner and also a keen car club member, in recent times it's felt a bit "us and them".
I'll be in the e30 line up in the car club (names down already) but I'll get over to the zoners area to put more faces to names.

I'll be along at this too, traveling down with the scottish region as per usual. Might see Oz and the others who were at my hotel last year, looking forward to it
Paul.

Great to read the positive posts now all you need are the TWO Marshalls, come on guys / gals.
Without wishing to push it would suit those who are well known / post on here regularly ??
Once up and running can this post become a sticky??

Thanks Neil, so only now need ONE other willing member and the Zone display is then away.
Once second Marshall named then I will provide me tel numbers for initial contact and then pass you onto the club so lines of communication are transparent and direct. I will always be available should any issues arise etc.
Thanks again Neil. steveH

Thanks to Neil and Gryff the e30Zone can now have its dedicated display area. I shall communicate with the two marshalls and the Club initially and therefore more info. should flow soon.
Hope you guys back the Zone and get a good number of well presented cars for the display. thanks steveH

How and why do you come to that assumption ?no2lurch wrote:New thread started. dont post here. this will be locked later.
Its a topic being discussed in a reasonable manner.
Be interested in hearing your rationale ?

Yes it could be locked Steve, But I think it would be better off being moved to E30chat so people can continue to discuss their thoughts.
It's been a good thread so far with no issues so I'd like to keep it running for the time being.
