i dont dislike henna, swindler wrote:I had a henna 323i, grew to love the colour
it's just if i needed to respray the car, i'd consider other colours.
i've always loved imola red, ever since i saw it on an e36 m3 gt2.
at the time i had an e36 m3 gt in brg, and it looked something else ! although it may be an acquired taste.
thanks andy for the pic, it looks slightly different to how i'd imagined it

Imola is sold on me for sure! Never thought it would look like it does... but in the pic above with the Sport Evo wheel colours, it gets my vote!
Don't think Green would suit it.... that should be kept for MG's! lol How about another Rover colour - Tahiti blue?

really?swindler wrote: there are so few henna + sterling silver M3s. In the States they are very sought after.
thought there were quite a few henna red ones, at least...(like mine)
The USA M3 is a bit different...doesn't have the dog-leg, direct top gearbox, instead it uses an overdrive box with a short final drive ratio...
The cooling fan is viscous coupled (euro ones have 2-speed electric fans) and all USA M3s come specc'd up with leather and aircon as well as electric windows (all extras in Euro versions)
1987 Henna Rot M3 (was 195bhp CAT..now more and no cat)

yep, just what i was thinking.ShepsEvo3 wrote:Its very close to Zinnobar red too
a bit too close to be worth doing it in a non standard colour really. i think if i was to go for a full colour change it would have to be something quite different to a normal m3 colour, but still quite subtle, and probably a standard colour off another make of car.
something like the honda accord type R colour, i think it's pirates black? looks black untill the sun hits it and turns it a dark purple.
cheers,
harry

Imola
BRG
Santorini is a great colour ... but sadly not for an E30. Loved my old man's E39 tho.
What about Ruby Black or one of the other Individual colours?

Well having just had my E30 Cab resprayed in Imola, i can
assure anyone that it is nothing like Zinnober.
It,s altogether a much deeper, richer, vibrant Red than it,s predecessor
and i,m more than happy i went for it.
Love BRG but think it suits older cars than M3,s better.
