Harness Issue

My speedo wiring harness for the back. The one that controls brake lining, tempreture gauge and miles per gallon gauge well it's shorting out.

How hard would it be to take it apart and secure connections

can i suggest u first check the diff where the connector is on te back cover of the diff....

this is the most likely cause,,,,, had it on ALL my e30s...LOL

just rewire it .. and give the connector a good clean

chances are the wires are real horrible and brittle

Diff? So i gotta rewire the damn thing? i'm sure it's ion the harness tho only. I been messing with it and stuff starts working.

i doubt it.... just jack the rear of the car up... this is where the wireto the instrument cluster comes from,.,,,

u will see the connector on the top right hand side of the diff cover... i bet the wires are buggered

oh crap... i thought u oly had a speedo issue LOL

my mistakke...

yeh sounds liek u need a new cluster as the SI board is gone

easiest thing to do id get a 2nd hand one from someone on here breaking a car,,

they are pretty easy to change

my stuff is workin good now but the si board just blinks off and on all the time i dunno.
