As per title i want to paint my engine, what kind of paint do i need to use?

try halfords or similar, should be heatproof enamel

Halfords do it, it's called 'High Temperature Engine Paint'

bloody thin stuff though, need to be gentle putting it on or it foams up.

Frost Automotive sell some stuff that's supposedly nice and thick. Got a tin for my engine but never got around to painting it.
