Yep, me too. Hat and gloves as the heater does not work, and singing as the stereo is not wired up.

Still a perfect E30 day. It is a very sheltered environment in the front of an E30 cab too, very impressed.

Martin.

Yhh bought mine aswell a couple of weeks ago. Not on the road just yet

The only thing is apparently you could damage part of the roof if your put the roof down and its cold. So you have to make sure the car is really warm inside before you actually put the roof down.

Is this true or is it just a myth???? :P

I think you're supposed to let the rear windscreen warm up a little to make it more supple prior pulling the roof open.

Agreed it was a lovely day, but couldn't be arsed disconnecting the hardtop!

true ...the colder it is the more brittle the rear window gets and they crack if folded..thats why cabs were provided with a rear window cover as standard

Oh ok..........what do you mean by rear window cover? what does it look like?

As everytime I put the roof down I make sure its boiling hot inside to risk any damage.....

To not risk damage. This is good, so long as you continue doing that, your window should be fine, and you wont need a cover. As for what they look like, they're a screwed up ball of grey fabric in the boot, usually.

It straps around the back part of the roof, like the face-hugger thing in the Alien movie, with a big rectangle of material that fits neatly over the clear plastic part of the soft top. It protects from cold, snow, water (which can collect along the bottom seam of the window) and sharp sticks.

June 28th, between 2 and 2:05pm. Just enough time to warm the old girl through.

Im not counting on this summer being a hit to be honest with you. Judging by the past few rainy summers we've had, this coming summer doesnt look very promising.

Im just going to risk it and put the roof down on any sunny day, summer or no summer.

If the ones you've seen Cloud, are a roll of screwed up felt, you anint been looking at a genuine cover. AND that cover alone WILL NOT SAVE A COLD REAR WINDOW. It is purely a cover to stop the frost and therefore the need to "scrape" the ice off or use chemical de icers on what is basically a soft plastic screen.

Madaboutthe30 is absolutely spot on. The car has to be warm inside to take away any risk of the rear screen cracking. Full stop. Thats the heater on max and the rear screen blower on.
