OE takes a bit of improving on, both in terms of performance and life.
Indeed. The original exhaust on my E30 lasted 18.5 years.Brianmoooore wrote:OE takes a bit of improving on, both in terms of performance and life.
BMW's exhausts are superb. My E36's original exhaust lasted 10 years and its Timax replacement lasted all of 24 months. As I'm looking to get rid of it over the next year, I replaced the Timax with another Fast-Fit special. Looked awful, sounded dreadful, droned throughout the car and fuel economy plummeted. B0ll0cks to this I thought and decided to order an O.E. exhaust through Motormec (a bit cheaper than a dealer). Fitted this and the car is running as a BMW should again.
The quality of the OE exhaust is light years ahead. It fits perfectly, sounds great and is far more efficient. Yes it's twice the price but you get what you pay for.
