I just took my front and rear seats and door panels (2 door) to a place to get retrimmed/upohlstered. On the telephone they said it would be about AUD $700 (GBP 295) but when they saw the seats and other bits they said it would cost more for the Recaros so $1200 (505) for the front and rear seats and then $120 (50) per door. Total cost of $1440 (GBP 607). How does that sound? I told them to go ahead with it because I want it done but they can't start it for a couple of days so I could change my mind. I'm not sure what this place is like either but they do work for the main BMW dealer here in Brisbane.

I also couldn't get the same material for the seats (original http://www.members.westnet.com.au/astondg/DrvSeat.jpg ) so I picked another that was similar in design but maybe a bit different colour. I hope the original material wasn't rare or expensive or something?

Hopefully the car will look a bit nicer when I get this done and the interior cleaned and back together, although the worst part was probably the drivers seat (in picture ^) which I don't use anyway.

I have to fix up the seats too, I don't think the fold up bit is working. I mean the part with the lever on the side the folds the whole seat up. The passenger side is missing the wire bit (I think there was a thread about this recently, I'll have to find it) and the drivers side I'm not sure. They might need new gas struts too. Sounds like it might get expensive.

Sounds very reasonable to me mate. A standadr re-trim here will cost you around the Ԛ£1000 mark and go upwards to anything past Ԛ£5,000 depending on how much you want trimmed.

It's okay if you're talking about leather, but for a cloth re-trim, it's a bit on the expensive side...
