That programme embodies everything I fucking hate about car modification. They are sloppy, retarded, idiotic, amateur and above all cringeworthy.
Ever seen american shows like American Hot Rod or Overhaulin. They do quality work, with real workmanship. Chop shop almost makes me ashamed to be english if the only TV equivalent we can come up with is that no-brained dross.
Yuk

Overhaulin is good but can be annoying with the plot lines, although the 'is born' series is pretty good aswell! I even like Wheeler dealers! I just hate pimp my ride, chop shop and fifth gear!

Ever seen the size of the wheel spacers they use on some of their "creations"?!
did anyone see the chop shop where they did a fiesta/mondeo hybrid?
they put the mondeo engine in the fiesta complete with subframe and front legs!
the piece of $hit they created had about 30 degrees negative camber!
so very dangerous.
the programme is mildly entertaining but i would never drive any of the monstrosities they build.

And that complete pillock who thinks he is a designer?
What planet does he think he's on? Chop Shop is magnificent at showing you how to create a 'car' that is worse and worth less than the scrappers from which it was made.

i likie the fact that they think a rover v8 engine is a unique engine mod for the capri. errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. no. maybe they shoulod go to a capri show to see the dozens that are also unique. now maybe if they have put the engine and running gear out of a skyline like the guy in classic ford (i think it was this or maybe performance ford) is doing or the guy putting a 200sx enginein his then its 'nearly' unique.

Berney?! An engineer?! That guy is a f*cking twat!corkie wrote:Fair enough berne is an engeneer but that lipou is no designer imo he makes it up as he goes and creates monsterously ugly pieces of scrap.
From an engineering point of view, the creations are a joke.
From a style point of view, they are mutated scrap.
From a bodywork point of view, full of filler from end to end and i doubt any rust protection!

Never seen chop shop due to being a tramp without sky, but it sounds hideous, and if that E36 was anything to go by their styling and engineering prowess is akin to that of a McDonalds employee.
Not in E30s any more

its all for the tv audiunce tbh the motors on pimp my ride look fairly well finished as with cars in mags but when you see them in person you realise how poorly finished they are, if i sent a car out like that id be sacked!
