Why bother carrying tools or spare petrol when you can fit a whole moped in the boot??!

Yep,tourers back in it's usual state after it's clean up!

And just to prove the boot closes........

Glad to see I am not the only one to carry greasy mechanical things in the back of my touring. I had my 1964 NSU Quickly (a proper moped with pedals) in the back last weekend.

And rmt,I've also got a "proper" moped,a 1977 FS1E,pedals and all the biz,had for it for 15 years, and as you can see,she needs some love!

Image

And if yer interested,a circa 1960's Malaguti Roxy........

Image

I would like to point out,the moped isn't mine,I've just got to get it running for someone!
Shame though, fits well in the boot of the Tourer and as someone pointed out,it's colour coded with the car too!

  I'll be a "thirty something" in about 3 1/2 weeks time!

I had a great time on my Fizzy when I was 16,I had the title of the fastest moped in town back then, was great being able to piddle all over the other new mopeds, most people were on DT's and TS's,no match for my pedal powered non restricted screamer,I even fitted drop handle bars!
You should see the prices Fizzies fetch these days,a good showroom one will cost you E30 Sport money!
Even mine in its dire condition, could on a good day fetch about Ԛ£400-500!
Mines quite rare in as much as it's the earliest design they made (that being the SS50) but wasn't registered untill 31st July 1977,the last day unrestricted mopeds could be registered.
I've had it to long to sell it though, and i'm sure one day I'll get around to restoring it! Until then it shall just stay "resting" in my garage

I've never seen one of them, but I've heard they were supposed to be a bit quicker than the Fizz, mine would max out at a smidge over 60.
What kinda speed did you get from your Puch?

Boredom induced sense of humor sh1ttyness, I hate moving house.

Ah Jesus, whilst I'm here, do you know if a touring tow bar will fit on a saloon? Are the boot floorpans the same/similar pressing/design?
Cheers

TBH Widge,i'm not sure.
But,having spent quite a bit of time under the Tourer and my old saloon,I don't recall there being any differences under the backend.
Probably best to post a thread in the tech section.
Sorry I can't be more help :( :D

The memories of my head on tank and my feet hooked on the rear indicators, was great fun!
Nice to see you too had the title of fastest 50 in the area, good show!

Tailgaiting a milk lorry to get pulled along in it's slip stream is dangerous mate,'tis a weird feeling and I only did it once, was scary, but fun!

Sounds like your Puch would have "had" my Fizzy then,I never quite managed to get my speedo on 65,only just 63.

Funny thing is,doing 60 odd on my Fizzy is much scaryier and addrenalin pumping than doing 125 in the Tourer!

Cheers mate, I've been under the back of my saloon and my mate's dad's tourer and can't remember any differances. I'm gonna fit it at his house anyway, so if it doesn't fit on mine we'll put it on his tourer  .

Gotta get my '53 BSA Bantam going, see how fast/slow I can get going on that! I used to tailgate 4 by 4's on the motorway in my mini, if you get close enough the impact won't be too hard when they brake and then they'll slow you down  I chose 4*4 as they went about the same speed and don't stop too well.

How strange, I seem to be doing all the things I should have done (but didn't) as a teenager now I am in my late thirties!! ie buy a fast car and a moped. Should point out that NSU Quickly is not road legal yet and at the current rate may take a few years to get an MOT. Maybe fuel costs for 325i touring will spur me on.
