A 318i touring will always be a 318i touring, even if you fit a 5 litre V8 into it, and give it saloon rear bodywork.
The '318i touring' bit is just a model designation, like Escort or Nova or whatever, when applied to lesser makes.
It will just be a modified 318i touring.
Excellent conversion idea, BTW. Better economy and performance.

Do it, best thing I ever did to my car
Easy as pie too! I hadn't really done anything mechanical with cars before, and I managed it in a few days.
Not in E30s any more
Good idea. I also want to do this but the IS engines always seem to overprice3d. There was a bargain full IS conversion on here a couple of months ago but i didnt have thge moolah then. I really want to get it sorted out for my other halfs mums wedding, she wants me to use mine for her wedding car

IS mills are a good engine.. but whoever said 4 pots dont understeer is lying! went out for a spin in my recently aquired breaker, yeah it goes well but jesus I prefer a 6 pot over them front wheels!
