Ok so I know there is myself and Ikonjin that both work in Ford's Dunton Research and Engineering centre.

Pacerpete when deported from that weird country he was sporn, landed on our shores and helped build Dunton 40 odd years ago.

Who else from the zone works for Ford? At Dunton in Essex there is also a Green Design convertible and a stunning black E30 M3 with black plates, M3 mirrors and badged Hartage.

Hahah starting to round up the others eh? We've had a good laugh over here at Visteon at how our share prices just dropped to less than 1 USD..........

Still maintain that as a Visteon man I'm not quuuuite a Fordie......but the big arm of Uncle Henry will soon sweep us all in.....still, only on placement so no major comittment

We need a Ford meetup - on a slightly related note is anyone going to Lakeside?

I work at Ford's Trafford house office just down the road from Dunton and I've even bought my Diamond black tech1 sport into the office today. Usually have to settle for a MK4 Golf for the 120 mile round trip. I also saw the M3 your talking about at the Dunton open day when Ford invited workers to bring their cars along.

sweet! there was an open day for cars? I missed out :p...........I don't see any of the cool cars being at the back entrance.....I'm sure the owner is close by......more reason to have a meet!

if you ever see a knackered black touring in all it's 1.6 4 pot rubbishness going around (perhaps slightly sideways on the small roundabout just past the main gate if it's been raining) that'd be me :p........

The annual Dunton car show. Normally the same cars/trucks every year but hopefully mine will be in reasonable condition by then.
Ilk - I can't see Ford buying Visteon back after getting shot of it just 8 years ago. I worked for Visteon when it went into it's own entity and it was so supposed to become the biggest company in the world.

Ford will bounce back. Its North America that is ruining the company! lol Damn Dearborn boys. I've worked for Ford for 13 years though and have seen stageslike this before. Dont panic just yet. :D

Hahah nono, I meant all the Visteon employees are slowly moving back to Ford......most of the powertrain guys have gone to greener pastures and every time I go with people to the Ford canteen they bump into millions of ex employees!

we're considering buying shares now because it couldn't possibly get any worse! :p....plus there's word out that we've actually got business coming soon!

although it seems with such a small share volume it could potentially be possible to buy Visteon entirely for round about 1.5 million dollars.........(along with its debt :p)

yea, it's the whole collapse of the SUV/pickup market that's killing Ford in America... the Euro cars are doing pretty well and they look pretty set for the next few years with some of their new stuff.....*is dragged off for divulging too many Ford secrets*.......

hope I'm there for this annual car show (although perhaps by then we'll have been sealed off and won't be allowed in  )

come on! I'm sure there are some other Ford guys around!

Pulled into the normal car park at Dunton this morning and low and behold an E30zone sterling silver 2 door.
It had the www.E30zone.net stickers in the side windows and the black roundel in the front screen.

Reg ** HTF I think, dechromed kidney, Azev A's, tech II kit, sport leather and was dropped. Anyone know who this is? I've got a feeling someone at Ford has recently bought it asit's definitely not been there before. Must be someones car on here.

I'm a contractor at Dunton.

I've a mid restoration Alpine White 318iS currently on 17Aplina Reps (15in Hartges at home awaiting rubber) with no Interior or Subframe bushes for that matter! I usually keep it well hidden ;o)

The Hartge badged M3 is a lovely bit of kit. I think it was out for the "Vehicle Enthusiasts Day" judging by the pics from the day. Unfortunately I missed it due to a trip across to Cologne.

Very sweet E21 near your usual parking spot today. . .

So which one of you lot has the coolest job then??

There must be some awseome day jobs going at a engine R&D facility!

Must beat working in an office stuck to a mouse/keyboard/pc all day.

I'd donate body parts to have a chance at destroying a brand new ford engine, it must be enjoyable, although I suppose you then have to figure out why? That sounds like fun too!

Where does everyone see all these cool cars?.....I really need to cruise around the Ford carparks one day....still haven't seen an E30 driving in/out while I've been around..... have seen that blue mustang and a couple of other goodies though....

in terms of coolest jobs....well it's not likely to be me.....I'm working with motorcycles at the moment....and not powerful ones >.<.......
