First off, greetings from New Zealand.
There is a car for sale down here that claims to be the world's only four door 325 sport. It was sold new in the UK and then shipped here at a later date. Since converted to manual, 2.8 - see the auction here.
It seems more likely that this is simply a four door with some options (especially since it doesn't have LSD) - so I emailed BMW UK, and got this:
Description: 325I E30 LIM AUT RL M20 EUR
Type: 1422
Production Date: 21.07.1989
Warranty Start Date: 10.10.1989
Paint: 198 M - Royal Blue
Upholstery: 0271 - Indigo Cloth
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Options
Ordered Options
0200 Diesel particle filter
0201 E H Automatic Gearbox
0215 Power Assisted Steering
0288 Wheels: Light alloy wheel cross spoke styling
0350 Composite wheels, star-pattern spoke 108, with mixed tyres
0401 Sliding/vent roof, electric
0411 Window regulator elec frt/rr
0428 Warning triangle and first-aid kit
0497 Rear central armrests
0500 HEADLIGHT WASH/UNIT+INTENSIVE CLEANING (<<< this was removed, not much need down here)
0551 On Board Computer
0812 Great Britain Specification
0850 Supplement tank filling
0925 AG Transit Protection Coating (Transportation)
These are the only details shown on the vehicles specifications on our
database.
All pretty self explanatory, just wondering if a) someone could tell me what Great Britain spec meant and b) if someone with a sport had the equivalent info for comparison purposes.
Cheers
Nic

No 4 door sports sold in the UK mate - all Sports were 2 door cars.

No LSD, then no Sport.
As Mark says, Sports were only 2 doors. No 4 doors were EVER made.
GB spec...? I have no idea. Unless it's to do with side running lights, etc.
I don't think they ever did a Sport in that colour, especially with that interior colour choice. I might be wrong though, but I've never seen or heard of one.
Keep your eye out for a 4-door E30 M3 though... that I've GOT to see...
Giles.

GB spec is down to the trim and spec level mostly.
Different countries will have differing levels of stuff as standard.
for example some countries might have ABS and PAS and Electric Windows as standard and other countries not

It could be a BMW Japan model, as here in the middle east there are loads of four door "sports' around the place. That means four door, BBS 15, sport interior, full option, mirror light, black headlining etc, dechromed, Mtech 2 kit, Sport suspension, 2.5 but switchable auto and no LSD.
So if it not the only four door sport!
sorry guys

The car definitely originated in the UK. Probably just a kitted up SE - although there must have been a lot of work done after purchase, since there is no sign on the spec list of the suspension/wheels/kit that the car has now.
Might just stick to my current sport.

I'm sure there is one four door Sport in existence that was specially made but still officially a Sport, and there was a thread about it a while ago.
I'll have a look

Here's the thread, check CiLK_WuRM's post, it seems to be the car you're talking about....

And yes I know the auction's finished, just thought it'd be interesting

Cheers Zayyan - it is the same car, but the question is where the original claim that it is a sport came from - wouldn't take to many changes of owner with each telling the next that this was "the only 4 door sport" before it became gospel - shipping the car to the other side of the world would make it easier I'm sure.
Still tempting though.

Sure is tempting, the story of it being "specially made for an English lord" sounds a little made-up I agree.
Worth checking with a BMW dealer though, you never know, it may well be the only 4-door Sport

I emailed BMW UK, and got the information at the start of the thread - as far as I can see there is no indication that it is more than a 325i with some (possibly not even factory) "sport" options.
