e36 window switches

Well about 3 or 4 months ago i tried to put in e36 window switches and fried the wiring because it was after market wiring :o: .
Yesterday i got them fitted and once i got home i realised they're in the wrong way.

Is there any way you can spin the buttons around so that they are on the right way and function properly? (filled arrow at top and widows UP, hollow switch at bottom and windows DOWN)

Can't the switches just be turned around in their fixing holes? Otherwise swap over the two wires on each that go to the motor.

yeah I was thinking that, but I'm not too confident in doing that! any other ideas?!
