I have the evo seals on my sport, they increase under bonnet temps, to the point where on a run you can heat your hands by placing them out the window in the air flow from the wheel arches.

The tyres tend to get a bit hot too. Can't see this being good for heat soak and induction but a good engine and cooling system won't actually run any hotter unless in heavy traffic after a run, but soon recovers again.

they do supposedly increase aerodynamic efficiency though, but I would argue they don't myself, since the most damning aero feature would be the air's route of escape from the engine bay rather than the bonnet shape.

But they are very aestheticaly pleasing too.

If the group buy is over they are available genuine and new from BMW dealers about £27 iirc, I bought 3 sets ended up selling two. And they stick too well if you need to pull them off they will take paint with them.

thanks for the post march + dips... i was asking because i have had both sides welded on my car about three inches from the strut tower(near the battery and fuse box)... i was going to use them as a measure to stop water getting in... although my car when warm sits dead between the quater and half mark on the temp guage.. it never goes above half while in traffic.

They affect under bonnet temps not engine temps, however when you stop moving after a run your intake will suck up alot of this hot air (i assume), hence the brief increase. also less air over the rad until the fan kicks in.

They are rubber yes.
