How many of us use scrappies for spares on our cars??? My bet would be loads. Now how many of us get parts only for our own cars??? Wouldn't it be great if we had a sticky or section for people to put what theyre local yards have got??? Could end up with another good resource for used bits i think.

Any opinions???
Wanted: Any old component speakers, complete or separate parts, let me know what you got :D

Mines do but there is hardly ever an E30  and when there is the parts are expensive(unless they fit in my pockets).I find the wanted section is sometimes cheaper than my local scrappies.

Im fairly well aquainted with my local scrappy and have free reign of the yard, and just come to him at the end with a box of bits. Im sure if you own an e30 some of you are the same lol. We got 3 or 4 e30's here atm so il be stripping them on request for peeps off here, saves the bits going to waste :D

Maybe a system of rolling Stickies in the Wanted forum...

SCRAP FIND: MODEL/COLOUR/YEAR-ISH/LOCATION/CONDITION

Example...

SCRAP FIND: 325i, Red, 87, Kent, Front-Ended
SCRAP FIND: 318i touring, Black, 92, Derby, Rotten

Each thread could have a few pics off your mobile, brief description of any morsels left or if anything is dead/missing.

Threads deleted after 30 days, or if someone advises it's all gone, crushed etc.
...or is it?

We've scrapped a few E30's lately where I work. Lot's of un-insured ones about at the moment. We have one awaiting it's fate at the back of the compound at the moment, no morsels though.. :(

I use my local scrappies, my standard one has a few e30s, all 4 pots, a load of e36s and a few e34s.

Prices have been going up for stuff though :(. Best I could get a diff for last time was £50.

I'm fairly friendly with my local BMW scrappie too.
Lets me just wander around looking for bits and taking note of anything I think people might be interested in.

He can be pretty pricy on some things though since he always has an idea what something is really worth :(

Probably because out of all the members on here, only a few would put the effort in at scrappies for other people, unfortunately its the minority of members that are real enthusiasts that would more than happpily scavenge bits for other people :(

I didn't even realise there were that many scrappies around Kent. Between Reclamet and the Universal Salvage Auctions (neither of which you can wander around and see what's really there) there isn't much in the East Kent area that Im aware of.

What would be perfect is a section titled scrapyards or similar within there each post could be titled with town and county then within the post, details of breakers in there ideally with a contact number of said yard (and aything to watch out for if they are a bit dodgy) . I did list the bits available in my local yard a while ago when i fetched some bits but nobody was interested in what was there.

I also pop onto a vw forum (my bro is into them big style) and they have a freecycle section, basically anything and everything that is gonna end up in the bin gets offered to other members free! This would be a nice addition on here as i am sure we all have bits and bobs needing to go to the tip which another member may have a use for. Not just car parts listed in there but everything including the kitchen sink lol

Just need some mod action now and we are sorted... winkeye
It is meaningless to ask; which is real, 'real' or imaginary? It is simply a matter of which is the more useful description

In Kent there is BMW Spares in Charing. They mostly strip the cars and keep parts on the shelf. I've had a few bits from them.
