Hey all,

Just wanted to finally say hello properly on the zone, ive used it a few times for technical help already (my cambelt broke), which has been most useful and helpful, but thought I should atleast introduce myself and my car properly :D. Anyway, here we go...

Im Stu, based in Berkshire, and ive owned a 1990 316i 2 door saloon since January:

Its in pretty good condition, with the only rust just above the rear passenger side light cluster, the only current modifications are the BK racing 238 alloy wheels (on the car when I got it, didnt like them at first but they have sort of grown on me) and an M series gear knob which I got to replace the awful MOMO one that was on the car before. Having just finished uni I finally have some time to do something to the car...

I plan on eventually replacing the engine with the 1.8iS engine and getting a new stainless steel exhaust system, but for the mean time I am just looking to lower the car (I have an open thread in the technical help section http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... &p=1152044 for advice) and upgrade the sound system a bit (I have already ordered some infinity component speakers based on reading the ICE section on the forum and other reviews online (I have a wanted post open for some mirror tweeter pods: http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... &p=1152156 )

Just wanted to say hi really, and just mention that I really like the forum, the community and everyone who I have spoken to on here has been very nice and helpful.

Thanks E30zone!

Welcome Stu

As I say to most newbies welcome and enjoy the E30zone. No doubt you will have plenty of hours of fun and also get the advice that you are after. All E30 models are welcome, even though some members might not agree, but the E30zone's philosophy is no matter what model you have, as long as it's an E30, we don't care, everyone is welcomed with open arms. :thumb:

Nice looking car! Be sure to upgrade the brakes, bushes and suspension when you do the engine swap. Can't be tempted into an extra pair of cylinders??? winkeye

Haha, well the car already has discs front and back and ABS as far as im aware! I am looking to lower the car and upgrade the suspension before the engine swap, but havent had any feedback on my post about that yet, so still not sure what would be good for me to get.

I would like a bigger engine, but this being the first car that I am the main driver on the insurance and only being 22 this year it would cost me a fortune to get anything more powerful than the 1.8iS engine, im not sure when I am going to do the conversion though, as im going away for a ski season in october so the swap will probably be done when I get back.

I want to get the suspension done before I go away skiing though, and im plannin on going to the ring at the end of August with some friends :)
