Motorsport cab or an Alpina C2.7?
Moderator: martauto
These two cars have dominated my BMW enthusiasm for many years.
They are quite simply beautiful in their own right and to be honest if faced with a decision to buy either I just couldn't do it.
Considering a mint example of each turned up for sale with average mileage, correctly serviced etc, which one would you have?

Alpina any day. There is just something special about alpinas, even the average bod would know that its a really special car. I much prefer giong quickly down a B road using all the extra grunt and handling rather than posing round town attemptiing to catch a Sharon with the hood down in the rain!
As much as i love Motorsport Convertibles and E30 Convertibles in general, if i had to make the choice it would be the Alpina C2 2.7 EVERYTIME!
hubble, edit the op into a poll.

Alpina - most definate! I don't see how similar mileage and condition Msport cab can be as expensive (if not more) than say a mint C27 for example. I know the genuine motorsports are nice but at the end of the day they are just a 325i convertible with extra pigs ears attached

Yeah i can fully understand anyone going for the Motorsport, but it would be a hard decision like Mr Hubble says.jase325isport wrote:I may be the only one but i would probably have the motorsport. I just love the look or the tec 2 kit! Macau blue, bubble leather mmmm!!!.

alpina
I love Alpinas, but I do love my convertibles too. I would have to go with the Motorsport Convertible as the Alpina convertible is so rare, I would not be able to afford it. I think I would even go for just an ordinary convertible. Crazy that I am, but I like to feel the openness of the convertible. You can have the top down most of the time, unless it is raining or snowing. You just need the wind deflector up and the heater on full blast!!

Compromise and go for Old_skools c2.5 convertible.
Out of the two I would always take a convertible as it's my fun car and to me, the toy has to be a soft top. So in answer to the original question, if a genuine alpina convertible wasn't in the equation, a motorport would do me thanks.
Or build an Alpina engine for my existing Convertible
