Hi, I've just purchased a H plate motorsport convertible but it unfortunately has an issue with the electric roof not functioning correctly. I've taken it to TCS in High Wycombe who re synced it after fitting a new motor. It worked for 2 days and has now stopped working again. They are not sure what is causing the problem. Does anybody know a hood specialist that doesn't charge the earth? I live in Watford so anywhere close by would be good?

Many Thanks

Maddogg

Try C E Moores Coachtrimmers. They do all the work for BMW Heathrow and are excellent. I had my hood changed and fitted as well as had my rear leather seat re-stitched and the leather re-connolised. They did an excellent job.

Speak to Steve. Tell them that Lizzie, from the E30Zone recommended you.

Convert it to manual. Zero hassle and a roof that retracts in under 10 seconds.

I must admit, I am so pleased I went for the manual hood and not the power hood. For one reason, they go wrong all the time, but secondly, I have so much boot space compared to the power hood versions. I can get a large suitcase in mine without any problems. It isn't that way with the power hood.

I hope that you get your hood sorted soon, it must be a real hassle. It takes me seconds to get my hood down and stored away. I may have to get out of my car to pull a lever and close the hood mechanisms, but it has never caused me a problem. I hope that C E Moores will be able to help you.

Thank you for your input. From what you said Cabgirl i decided to try my local coachtrimmers Hukes of Hemel Hempstead who have rectified all the problems for £100.00 + v.a.t. Result...

Thanks for your advice
