A majority of the cars in the UK were converted by Birds UK who are an authorised agent of hartge. If you ever come across a Hartge car get it verified by them before you buy it.

i did notice that before karan, very nice too.....
i would have bought my friends but due to being skint at the time i stuck with my moggie minor.
think his had a 2 liter m race engine in but i will find out from him.
he also had an imaculate almost undriven M3 that he sold and the geezer who bought it crashed it on the way home

If RD were any good they would have BMW approval. (some of the work they did on E30s was good but since then they have gone down hill)

i think any one who has seen the h35 in action would agree that a h35 would rip a b6 bomber down the lanes on the m way fukkin anywhere ive stripped the car over the last few weeks and my god ive found things i havnt seen on a race car let alone a road going race car!! lol
me n my dad now have a hartge each the green one is a h26 and the black one is a h35 the father of the 2...
in only a few weeks now its going to be back on the road to with a newly rebuilt gearbox , new clutch , new sump helicoil, new 4 pot willwood brakes with braided lines new front bumper , fully serviced up to the hills new everything lol even though it dont need it but hey then in a month or so throttle bodies and a omex managment system will be on board.
But from wat ive seen driven Owned hartge are just so far ahead of the rest of them!

Hartge H35 is more or less than same as a B6 3.5 to be honest. A b6 has around 260 bhp and a H35 has according to ian 270bhp. 10hp is simply not enough to kill another car at this level.
H26 is a 190 bhp 325i unless its the early model such as Ian's which i think has the fantastic 2.6 litre engine and not the later 2.5.
However the other hartge cars, especially the newer ones are absolute beasts and a different kettle of fish to the Alpina.
Alpina is all about taking a BM and making it something more but staying within regulations.
Hartge also make the H36-24 which is probably one of the fastest E30's ever built which has an NA engine.

they only made 6 H36 24's and they were 50 odd grand in 89.
Are we all going to slag alpina's off now? the original and best. They now create subtle cars for a different customer to hartge and shnitzer

The way I see it:
Alpina:- for the more prestigious driver who likes to open the throttle sometimes
Hartge:- spirited driver with a lot of cash
Schnitzer:- more stylist than performance

Hartge, what you boys smokin.
http://www.mcp-motorsport.com/images/de ... n.asp?ID=1
An approximate formula for finding the revised top speed of a car (everything else remaining unchanged is
Old Top Speed * (New Power/Old Power)^(1/3) (the power of 1 third)
so for an example, if a standard M3 E30 does 145mph on 215bhp, the Alpina would do
145 * (260/215)^(1/3) =
145 * (1.209302^0.333333) =
145 * 1.065397 = 154.5
and the Hartge 145 * 1.078885 = 156.5. And given the last 15 - 20 mph usually take a long time to arrive, the difference is bugger all (or a clean air filter v a dirty one!)
Or to put it another way, you need a s**t load more BHP to make a big difference to the top speed. Without any aero changes, you would be looking for over 420bhp to maybe crack 3 miles a minute, and then its only 35mph faster than the standard car!!!

Edit
Oh, and I wouldn't mind an H36, but not instead of.

Driven both, H26 is nothing special if your used to 2.7 and the H27 is just like an Alpina 2.7 with the power band slightly higher up due to the wilder camshaft.Simon13 wrote:they only made 6 H36 24's and they were 50 odd grand in 89.
