I have seen 325 on this web site as well as Ebay, that have 5-lug wheels on them. How do I achieve this? I just bought the car and have lots of plans for it. I found some 18's off of a 99-2000 model 325. My question is how can I fit them without spacers. I was told that spacers would convert the wheels to 5-lug. I was also told that there not as strong. I dont want them breaking. I plan to put a M20 M3 engine and trans. in the car. WRITE BACK FOR INFO ON THIS SUBJECT!!!PLEASE Mulehead

You can get good spacers with built in lugs/bolts that are fairly strong. You can get some made up that have 5 lugs/bolts and also create the right offset to allow the intended wheels to fit. This would be the cheapest way to do it, still cost a bit though to get good custom spacers made up. I have spacers like this on my 323i (only 4 lug/bolt though) and I race it on dirt and bitumen without any problems.
The other option is to get E30 M3 or E36 Compact suspension and swap it all over. I think Z3 suspension works too. This is more expensive, requires some custom stuff, and will mean you can't use your car until it is complete. This is the best way to do it though if you aren't bothered by those things.
What do you mean by an M20 M3 engine and transmission? I don't know a lot about the codes but I am fairly sure the E30 M3 had an S14 (2L, 2.3L or 2.5L) engine and the E36 had an S50 (3L) and S52 (3.2L)? Which of these are you planning to put in?
If you are going with an E36 engine it would probably be a good idea to do the whole suspension swap, and maybe go for adjustable coilovers at the same time to help with the extra weight over the front.
