Alledgedly my car was once 'brilliant' red, Its not particularly clean in these photos but there are large faded patches on the bonnet, boot and rear quarters.

I'm no expert on paint care and I dont have any specialist equipment here, can anybody recommend a/some products which would bring the paint up to a respectable colour again?

Cheers

t-cut or any other paint restorer or even a rubbing compound will do the job.

Cheers Fuzzy, I did hear that t-cut takes off large amount of paint - can't really understand how that works, y'know with the lacquer?

Forgive my serious ignorance :)

what i would start with (and what i normally use) is autoglym paint renovator. It's a weaker version of T-cut which is water pased rather than ammonia based. I used it on my "white" iS after it turned slightly dull grey after some really heavy rain. Comes up a treat! hth

I have a red one and all i can suggest is that when you have cut the paint back keep plenty of wax polish on!
i use turtle wax paste and it seems to keep it okay its the pigment in red paint that the sun affects. there is a bonus with having a red one by the time your finished you will have arms like arnold swartzanager .
best of luck
