Well the time is nearly upon us whereby we will require a new dogs dangly server and much increased bandwidth.

The Zone has grown incredibly since its conception and the traffic levels are phenomenal. The support we get from Gravity Internet has been fantastic and they have charged us the minimum possible for a huge amount in return.

All costs to date have been met by the Zone Team Members and Moderators but with a new Zone awaiting in the background we feel it is the right time to go for the new server.

Yes, you got it, it comes with a cost.

So Zoners, would you consider putting a little back in to help the Zone go from strength to strength ?

Any donation will be gratefully received and the benefit of a standalone server with increased bandwidth will be brilliant.

I wouldn't put amounts as it may discourage those that can only donate/afford a smaller amount.

As Iain has stated, we've survived a long time without financial aid, but its payback time, and with sales of merchandise simply not being up to expected levels, we've been left with little or no choice

Cool few points though, I'd buy e30zone stuff if it were cool, TBH I don't really like anything there.

You know what would be cool? Go register www.e30zone.de and have it pointed to www.e30zone.net so no added running costs but you know what I'd buy a www.e30zone.de sticker over .net anyday. But probably just me.

and the list may be a bit crass but those that do contribute are then awarded something for doing so even if it is a name on a list. Also it means we can post whore this thread and keep it on the main page.

once my pay has cleared in a week or so, i'll lob some over. :D
i think it's a very good idea to have a voluntary donation.

if you divide the money you've saved on garage bills during your time here by 1000, that'll probably be a very generous donation and puts the zone's value into perspective :D

Superb response guys and to echo Ant thanks to the continued support from the Traders.............to answer a couple of questions, yes this is a one off request as it is envisaged that the new server will more than cater for our needs and the new goodies which are being worked on currently.

If we (optimistically) raise the required sum, great. Should we exceed it then the funds would go to the hosting costs for next year, not a penny profit but all ploughed back into the Zone.

Once again a big thankyou from the backroom staff !!!

stoopid question here but how do I contribute, believe it or not, ive managed to stay away from paypal all this time :o:

more hapy to help out the work that goes on behind the scenes, without the people ive met on the zone, id prob still be sitting by the A30 waiting for the AA now winkeye
