Took my 318i M10 on a 800 mile round trip to Exeter and back to Norfolk over the bank hols weekend, so trip each way plus some driving about while there. Car ran perfectly, no over heating when stuck on M25 on outside lane with handbrake on and managed to average 35 mpg which impressed me! (admit im easily impressed!)

So just wanted to big up my 22 year old car and stick two fingers up at the many newer more modern cars that I passed that had broken down on the motorways!

M10's are bullet proof!

My old one popped a top hose on the fast lane, drained all its water.. Replaced it on the hard shoulder and filled it back up and it was still OK!

It also drove 200+ miles with no oil in the gearbox (with 4up and through North Wales mountains) It eventually only had 2nd and 4th - but still made it. I had a spare gearbox in North Wales...

I actually found my M10 more fuel efficient than 316i M40's...

I've got a nice cheap clutch kit on eBay for your very motor. - Brand new, currently no bids. Worth putting on the shelf. ;)
...or is it?

Sounds like it had a good run out :D

I know what you mean about feeling good passing newer cars that have broken down, saw a 55 plate laguna having an engine fire at the side of the A1 the other week 8O
